Bristan Commercial adds to CPD offering

As part of its continued commitment to the commercial market, Bristan has developed two additional RIBA Approved Continuous Professional Development (CPD) seminars, specifically designed for architects, contractors and developers, bringing its total to three.

The new seminars, A Leisurely Education on Brassware Specification and A Clinical View on Brassware Specification, provide an insightful overview of specifying brassware for the education and healthcare sectors. The seminars will cover key considerations such as legionella and Pseudomonas infection control, building regulations and standards, BREEAM and BIM, and legislative requirements.

This is in addition to the existing Bristan CPD seminar, Thermostatically Speaking, which covers the different types of thermostatic water controls as well as key product selection considerations such as duty of care and temperature extremes. It also includes expert advice on how to ensure installations conform to best practice in line with the Water Regulations.

The RIBA accreditation means that the seminar’s content has been independently verified to be unbiased, up-to-date and technically accurate.

The result is a valuable business tool for architects and construction professionals, offering a simple and convenient way for RIBA members to update their skills and knowledge to help ease the typically complex task of brassware specification.

This activity is supported by Bristan’s exceptional product portfolio, which is designed to meet the full scope of commercial requirements and includes many items which feature industry-first patented technologies.

Daniel Winchester, Head of Commercial Specification at Bristan, said: “The task of commercial brassware specification remains a complex one. Specifiers have to work in the most time and cost efficient way possible, whilst also considering infection control, hygiene, hot water safety and duty of care.

“With two new RIBA approved CPD seminars added to our offering, members can benefit from three, free, courses that provide quick and easy snapshots of all the essential information on education and healthcare specification, and thermostatic water controls. This development is in line with our concerted commitment to aiding commercial customers in the intricate task of specification; going beyond product innovation to provide real expertise.”

Delivery of Bristan’s CPD content is available through its dedicated specification managers nationwide.
