Looking for a way to clear drain blockages? PHPI takes a look at the RIDGID K-46 SinkSnake, a cordless tool promising a long reach.
Blockages in sinks, basins, showers and baths are common call-outs for many plumbers, with customers often looking for a quick resolution.
One tool designed to clear blockages is the RIDGID® K-46 Cordless SinkSnake™. The cordless tool has a brushless DC motor and has been designed to clear tough blockages in 3/4″ to 3″ (20mm – 76mm) lines, such as sinks, shower, and urinals.
The unit is powered by the RIDGID 18V Advanced Lithium Battery Platform, providing cordless freedom for professional daily use. The K-46 features a 360-degree rotatable AUTOFEED® that advances and retrieves the cable in forward and reverse, and an enclosed rotating drum, designed to protect plumbing fixtures from accidental damage.
The company says it is compatible with 6mm & 10mm diameter cables up to 15.2m in length and multiple cable tools, such as dropheads, spades and c-cutter augers.
Stand up
Integrated into the tool is a multi-position kickstand, designed to alleviate the weight of the tool in common work environments, such as under cramped sinks and in baths.
Designed with versatility in mind, the K-46 has a top mounted LED light to illuminate the work area. There is also a Cable Lock feature, designed to improve handling when manually clearing the blockage.
A wide variety of accessories are available with the tool including a carrying case, gloves and a fast charger.
