Heatrae Sadia develops BIM library

Heatrae Sadia is supporting efforts to embed smarter ways of working in the construction industry by launching a library of BIM Files (Building Information Modelling Files).

Recognising a need to future-proof its resources, the manufacturer has gone above and beyond immediate public sector requirements by investing in the higher level BIM standard – identified by the Government as a key strategic priority for the UK construction industry.

In April last year, government made BIM Level 2 a mandatory requirement for all centrally procured public sector projects. It is said to have contributed to savings of £804million, and is becoming a standardised way of working in the private sector.

Richard Newman, Head of Product Management at Heatrae Sadia, said: “BIM is a keystone of government efforts to support UK construction, and has already been shown to help reduce costs and deliver more efficient working across the supply chain.

“As a UK manufacturer we have a responsibility to play our part by providing professionals with the information they need to realise not only BIM Level 2, but to look forward to the new standards required under BIM Level 3 and beyond.”

Designed to be used with Revit by Autodesk software, the files are available to download from: www.heatraesadia.com
