KNIPEX has unveiled what it describes as a tougher, sharper and more comfortable take on its trusted High Leverage Diagonal Cutter (74 200) – in the 200mm length.
The redesigned tool features inductively hardened cutting edges designed to deliver long-lasting performance on tough wires, including piano wire. To help transfer force with maximum efficiency the edges are positioned close to the pivot, with a cutting-edge hardness of around 64 HRC. The company says the result is effortless slicing through medium-hard wire up to 4.2mm, hard wire up to 3.0mm and piano wire up to 2.5mm.
A key upgrade in the new design is the refined power joint which, the company says, reduces the required effort by around 20% compared to the previous model. The ergonomic handle has also been reshaped for better grip and comfort.
Additionally, the new model is now available with comfort handles. These have the KNIPEXtend interface which enables practical add-ons like TetheredTools clips for tool fall protection and ColorCode clips for easier identification. The cutter is available in VDE-tested versions certified for up to 1,000 volts.
The tool is forged from chrome vanadium heavy-duty steel and oil-hardened for resilience.
