MCS, a certification scheme for low carbon energy products, has released its latest data, relating to February 2024. It indicates there were 17,224 installations during the month, taking the yearly total to 33,482. Solutions installed include Heat Pumps, Solar PV and Battery Storage.
There were 4280 Heat Pumps installation in February 2024, around 25% of all installations covered by the scheme. MCS commented this was the third best month ever for the technology.
MCS reports that the average monthly heat pump installations for 2024 is over 4,000 (4,110), a 26% increase on the 2023 average.
Solar PV constituted the largest proportion of installations during February 2024, just under 75% of the total.
There are around 4,640 installers registered with the scheme, with an additional 119 contractors joining in February 2024. Regionally, Wales had the highest uptake during the second month of the year at 8.62%.
