Gas Safety Week: carbon monoxide detection

Savvy installers can use Gas Safety Week 2026 (14-20 September) as a timely reminder of the increasing importance of carbon monoxide and smoke detection in UK homes and businesses, says Arctic Hayes by DiversiTech UK.

This established national campaign, led by the Gas Safe Register, raises awareness on the importance of taking proper precautions when working with or around gas appliances.

“Every installer and heating engineer has a role to play as they’re often the last professionals to inspect gas appliances and increasingly viewed by home and property owners as trusted advisors on overall home safety, not just heating systems,” explains Lee Parsons, Business Unit Director for Arctic Hayes by DiversiTech UK.

“Alarms should be viewed as essential, not optional, and just as customers expect safe boilers and heating systems, they should expect effective CO and smoke protection.”

To support trade professionals, Arctic Hayes has a lightweight, compact and belt clip personal carbon monoxide detector (pictured) with an alarm that activates when level exceeds 30ppm.
