Following a launch at the London Science Museum less than six months ago, Vaillant’s next generation ecoTEC plus boiler range has already clocked up 7,000 hours’ worth of training from professional installers.
For its VIP launch in June, the company flew 10 installers to its headquarters in Remscheid, Germany. See how their visit went here:
Installer training
With courses available both online and in one of Vaillant’s six Centres of Excellence throughout the UK, the newly developed series of ecoTEC plus training modules, takes installers through the key features and benefits of the boiler together with a step by step on best practice commissioning and fault finding.
Ian Briggs of IRB heating has completed the ecoTEC plus training, featured as a guest on The Vaillant Podcast – The new ecoTEC plus: an installer’s view episode, and was recently invited to Vaillant’s Belper manufacturing site to get up-close with the next- generation boiler.
Speaking about the ecoTEC plus, Ian said: “Remscheid was really interesting, but visiting Belper to see how the new boiler is actually built and brought to life was amazing to see. From the dedicated production track installed on site, to the RFID tags which mean every ecoTEC plus can be fully audited throughout its lifecycle, it’s seriously impressive to see the level of detail Vaillant put into their production processes. And that’s all before the boiler is tested!
“For my customers, the noise of a boiler is always a concern, so to see that the redesign of the ecoTEC plus has retained its Quiet Mark accreditation is a huge selling point for me, they also think it looks cool and I like the engineering so it’s a win/win.”
Mark Wilkins, Technologies and Training Director at Vaillant said: “Remastering a firm favourite was no easy task, but we listened carefully to our loyal installer base to uncover what enhancements they’d like to see on this model. The next-generation ecoTEC plus is a culmination of this hard work, encompassing hours of research and development and extensive in-field testing. While we’re delighted with the end result, its always great to see the hard work pay off and the huge numbers of installers who have signed up to our new product training module is testament to this.”
