Daikin is expanding its high-efficiency, Multi+ range to cater for larger households and medium-sized businesses. A new outdoor unit is being introduced that can be connected to up to four indoor units, as well as a larger, floor-mounted domestic hot water (DHW) cylinder.
Daikin says its Multi+ is quick and easy to install, making it a replacement option for DHW and space heating systems where air conditioning is also a requirement.
The Multi+ is available with a nominal capacity of 6.8kW or 9.0kW in cooling and 8.60kW or 10.00kW in heating. It has an energy efficiency rating of A+++ for cooling, A++ for heating, and A+ for domestic hot water.
The new outdoor unit is capable of supporting up to four indoor units in addition to a DHW cylinder – one more indoor unit than the current system allows. The smaller 4 port system was launched last year. The current range now consists of three models i.e. a 4 port 5.2 kw and the above models plus the two cylinders i.e. 120L and 230L
Multi+ is supported on Daikin’s Onecta app which is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Stephan Lang, Daikin’s Residential Applications Product Specialist said: “The Multi+ heat pump has been engineered to provide the highest standards of reliability and efficiency, incorporating several innovative design features driven by advanced technology. This includes an innovative fan design, featuring specially shaped fan blades that significantly reduce sound emissions and lower power consumption, all concealed behind an elegant front grille. A high-efficiency swing compressor continuously adjusts the system’s cooling and heating output to maintain desired room temperatures.
“The expansion of the Multi+ range with a new outdoor unit and a larger, floor-mounted, DHW cylinder makes it the perfect solution for even more residential customers. We are looking to make further innovations to the range, to make it even more attractive to installers and their customers.”
