Drayton’s TRV4: The past, present and future

This Spring, Drayton is celebrating the launch of its TRV4 Anthracite, the latest addition to the range, by looking back at the impact this product has had within the heating industry.

The fourth incarnation of Drayton’s TRV, the original TRV4 Classic, was first launched almost three decades ago in 1992. Since then, Drayton has continued to expand the range, introducing the TRV4 Chrome in 2002 and TRV4 White in 2013.

Over the past 28 years, the TRV4 range has become one of Britain’s best-selling thermostatic radiator valves. Some of the key features include the range-limiting pin, which allows installers to set a restricted temperature range, handy balancing key that allows engineers to balance the system from the TRV, and non-stick internal valves.

The newest addition to the range is TRV4 Anthracite, designed with a matt finish that complements anthracite radiators. This new design has been launched following the rise in popularity of anthracite radiators as homeowners place more importance on aesthetics, with decorative radiators now making up 22% of the market according to the AMA Domestic Central Heating Market Report UK 2018-2022.

Remi Volpe, Managing Director at Drayton, commented: “Despite changing times, our highly efficient TRV4 range has remained one of the most popular choices amongst installers, with over half a million installed each year. Manufactured at our factory in Plymouth, the TRV4 allows heating engineers to provide their customers with accurate, reliable and efficient heating control in a range of different styles. As more homeowners look to incorporate anthracite radiators into their homes, it was important for us to ensure there was a style to complement these, which is why we’re excited to have introduced the TRV4 Anthracite to the range.”
