Rehau’s free District Heating workshops will be heading to Birmingham on Tuesday 27th June to offer installers, contractors, local authorities, developers and housing associations the chance to find out more about the benefits and practicalities of District Heating.
Attendees to the event will hear presentations from a line-up of industry experts and take part in breakout sessions to discuss topics in more depth. Confirmed speakers for the Birmingham event include Nicky Butterworth (BEIS) who will be talking about HNIP funding, Phil Jones (CIBSE) who will be speaking about the CIBSE Code of Practice for Heat Networks, Craig Groberty (3D Technical Design Ltd) who will give a short presentation on de-risking the civil environment and installation plus a cost comparison between polymer and steel pipework, and finally Franz Huelle from Rehau who will talk about innovation in heat networks.
The presentations will be followed by breakout sessions led by Nadeem Arshad (Bevan Brittan LLP), Martin Crane (Carbon Alternatives) and Gareth Jones (FairHeat). There will also be a talk from a local case study, so delegates can understand how District Heating works in practice, not just theory.
Steve Richmond, Head of Marketing and Technical for the Building Solutions division, said: “There are lots of people out there that want to know about District Heating, and our workshops offer them expert advice and information all in one day. We’ve refreshed the delivery of the workshops a little from last year, breaking content down into smaller segments, and adding in new breakout workshops so delegates can get more involved in the discussions.”
Building on the success of its events held last year, Rehau is holding District Heating workshops around the UK and Ireland throughout 2017. The first event took place in London in March, and a further workshop is planned for Edinburgh in October.
