FRÄNKISCHE has launched a street elbow for MLCP (Multi-layer Composite Pipes), marking what the company calls a significant advancement in its market-leading alpex MLCP system. It says that while street elbows are widely used in copper pipe installations, until now no equivalent product has been available for MLCP systems .
The launch follows the introduction of FRÄNKISCHE’s swept elbow last year.
Matt Densham, Divisional Director – Building Services for FRÄNKISCHE UK, commented: “No competitor has been able to develop an MLCP solution like this before, which we regard as truly groundbreaking. Installers and contractors have long been calling on manufacturers to develop an MLCP street elbow to help speed up installation times and simplify pipework layouts.
“By removing the need for an additional fitting and a short length of pipe to achieve the same offset or change in direction, installers can reduce job complexity, potentially saving both labour and material costs.”
The company says the patented fitting also enables more compact installations, typically reducing space requirements by around 30 per cent.
Matt added: “The introduction of our MLCP patented street elbow will facilitate more compact installations, which addresses a common challenge contractors face when working in confined spaces.
“There remains some misunderstanding in the market around MLCP systems. Unlike plastic or copper pipework, MLCP pipe and fittings should not be mixed with products from other manufacturers, as compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
“At the same time, the flexibility of MLCP pipe means installers often require fewer directional fittings than they would when working with copper or stainless-steel systems, providing additional installation benefits.”
