Daikin to offer City & Guilds assured heat pump training

Daikin has partnered with City & Guilds to achieve ‘Assured’ status for its Altherma heat pump training package.

The partnership delivers independently assessed training for heating engineers across the UK, designed to support professionalism and building confidence in the growing heat pump market.

Upon successful completion of the Altherma Heat Pump training package, engineers will be able to call themselves a Daikin Altherma Heat Pump Technician.

Sam Egerton, Head of Recognitions for City & Guilds commented: “Achieving City & Guilds Assured status shows that an organisation meets exacting quality standards in terms of course structure, delivery and quality management. Throughout the accreditation process, Daikin consistently demonstrated a clear commitment to excellence in training, with a comprehensive and well-structured offering that aligns strongly with the standards we expect from Assured programmes. We were particularly impressed by the focus on practical skills development and supporting installers with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the growing heat pump sector.”

Daniel Jackson, UK Training Manager at Daikin, commented: “At Daikin, we are committed to providing the highest quality training possible for our installer customers, ensuring they have the skills, confidence and technical expertise to deliver outstanding heat pump installations. Achieving City & Guilds Assured status for the training courses is a significant milestone because it gives installers an independently recognised credential that helps them stand out in a rapidly growing and increasingly competitive market. It’s recognition of the quality of our training and a valuable tool our customers can use to differentiate their own businesses.”

The Altherma Heat Pump training package consists of three courses totalling four days of learning. Courses can be completed consecutively or spread over time; there is no set timeframe to complete them, and once achieved, the qualification does not expire. The three courses are:

– Altherma Monobloc Installation
– Altherma Commissioning and Advanced Installation
– Fault Finding and Diagnostics

Upon completion, engineers receive a certificate bearing the City & Guilds Assured logo and are permitted to use the digital credential in their own marketing materials.
