Ideal Standard recently held a golf day featuring a masterclass with European number one, Mel Reid, to raise money for Armitage Thanks, its charity campaign which aims to raise £200,000 by 2017.
The event, which took place at Breadsall Priory in Derbyshire, was attended by 60 Ideal Standard team members, customers and suppliers. They were given advice on improving their game by Mel, who finished unbeaten at the recent Solheim Cup in Germany. As well as receiving training, the team members had a Texas Scramble round of golf across the course.
In total, £2,325 was raised for Armitage Thanks, which was launched this year by Ideal Standard to celebrate 200 years of its brand, Armitage Shanks. The campaign will raise money for Bowel and Cancer Research as well as for community projects close to its sites in Staffordshire, Hull and Newton Aycliffe.
Earlier this year, Ideal Standard became an official sponsor of Mel, and the company’s iconic logo is now featured on her playing apparel. This golf day was the first of several golf events Ideal Standard will be hosting in the coming years to raise the profile and fundraising potential of Armitage Thanks.
