Dickies moves into Superbikes with Be Wiser Kawasaki

Dickies has announced that it will be the ‘associate sponsor’ for the new MCE British Superbike team – Be Wiser Kawasaki.

In recent years, Dickies’ involvement and presence within MCE British Superbikes has grown considerably, with the company having sponsored various race teams and riders. This season was the biggest year for Dickies in regards to sponsorship, having been a main sponsor for Tyco Suzuki (TAS Racing), throughout the duration of the Championship.

Dickies has now turned its attention and backing to a newly announced MCE BSB team, Be Wiser Kawasaki. The team, that will pride itself on toughness and reliability, much like Dickies workwear clothing, is set to announce its two big-name rider signings for the 2014/15 Championship season in the coming weeks.

Maurice Morton, Sales & Marketing Director at Dickies, commented: “We are delighted to be the associate sponsor for the new MCE BSB team. We, as a brand have tried to ensure that our presence with MCE BSB has grown considerably over the years, and this move emphasises that. The Dickies brand has become a hugely recognised brand over all race circuits, and we hope we can continue to show our support in the MCE BSB arena.”

Gary Barak, Dickies Motorsport Coordinator said: “This move was an easy choice for us. We’ve had a few great years sponsoring various teams, but it felt like the right time to get behind a new team as the major associate sponsor. We look forward to working closely with the Be Wiser Kawasaki team during the 2014/15 Championship.

“We will be officially launching the team and announcing the rider line-up at Motorcycle Live at the NEC on Media Monday (24th November at 3.00pm). We will also be announcing at the same time a new MCE BSB brand ambassador for Dickies too, who will be a very well known MCE BSB personality. In addition to all this, Dickies will also be sponsoring The Wheel Change Challenge at Motorcycle Live too.”

Dickies supply all Racesafe marshals, and the medical team with safety clothing. They also supply the media and British Eurosport TV production team with Dickies branded clothing. On top of this, for the past two seasons, Dickies has event naming rights for the popular early Oulton Park round.

As well as the backing of the new race team, Dickies has also announced that it will have a greater presence at each round of the Championship next season for its competition, UK Worker of the Year 2015. Dickies has been running this competition for the past five years, and last season had a stand for entries into the competition at various race meetings to try and find hard workers in the UK, that deserve to be recognised for their graft.

Dickies’ 2015 MCE BSB investment now means that the company’s showroom, along with UK Worker of the Year will be present at all race meetings next season, both for UK WOTY entries and to sell team clothing for the new Be Wiser Kawasaki Team.

This year’s UK WOTY competition has a choice for the winner of a Suzuki S-Cross car, a Suzuki V-Strom 1000cc bike or an ATV Quad bike.

In addition, the winner will have the chance to predict the top 6 positions of the first MCE BSB race for Round 12 on Sunday 19th at Brands Hatch and if he or she gets them in the right order, an amazing cheque for £100,000 will be the reward.
