Renewables Centre has opened a new training location in Dalgety Bay, Scotland. Based at Ideal Heating’s training facility, the centre will offer training to support installers looking to enter or expand within the renewables sector.
The company says that since the launch in April, there has been over 300 installers who have benefitted from free training with Renewables Centre, with many of them making use of the Heat Training Grant which covers up to £500 towards air-source heat pump training.
While this grant is only currently available to installers in England, Renewables Centre are also offering this training for free in Scotland so that Scottish installers can upskill at no extra cost.
The new facility will not only support installers with BPEC-accredited training, but also with its MCS Umbrella Scheme, which offers design support, installation guidance and commissioning.
Dan Marsden, Director of Renewables at Wolseley Group says: “Scotland has set out its targets for heat pump installations and achieving them depends on having a skilled and supported workforce. The Dalgety Bay location will help Scotland achieve these goals by helping local installers take advantage of free training, guidance, and the skills they need to take on renewable projects with confidence. By offering hands-on support every step of the way, we’re helping installers grow, take on new opportunities, and play a key role in Scotland’s journey to Net Zero.”
