APHC appoints new CEO

The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) has announced the appointment of Sarah Fry as its new Chief Executive Officer Designate. Sarah succeeds APHC’s current CEO, John Thompson, who is retiring from the role after 30 years of service with APHC, 14 of which have been of dedicated leadership as the CEO.

Sarah, who commenced her role with the organisation at the end of May, will be working alongside John for the remainder of the year as part of a full induction and handover to the role.

Sarah brings extensive senior leadership experience with her career spanning trade associations, certification bodies, and professional membership organisations.

On joining APHC, Sarah said: “I am really looking forward to joining the team at APHC during such a landmark year as the Association celebrates its centenary. As someone who believes in the power of membership organisations to shape better outcomes for everyone, I was drawn to APHC’s strong focus on member support. The organisation has benefited from solid leadership under current CEO John Thompson and is in a great position to move forward. Our goal is to raise the profile and expand the membership of APHC, ensuring the Association and its members have a strong voice in key conversations, from building regulations and Net Zero targets to tackling the ongoing skills shortage in the sector.”

APHC Chairman, Richard Perrins added: “We are thrilled to welcome Sarah as the new CEO Designate of APHC. She will bring a new energy and deep insight at a time when our sector is evolving rapidly. I’m looking forward to an exciting future for APHC, one where we expand our reach, strengthen our voice, and deliver even greater value to our members.”
