Altecnic has been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus certification, the highest level of certification offered under the Cyber Essentials scheme.
Following a recent survey by the UK Government which revealed that four in 10 businesses and a quarter of all charities had reported having a cyber security breach or attack in the last 12 months, the importance of cyber security is more evident than ever. Hence, Altecnic has made it a priority to ensure that business information, and the information of all customers, is as protected as possible from cyber-attacks.
The Cyber Essentials Scheme is a government backed and industry supported scheme, which aims to help businesses protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber-attacks. The scheme also provides a clear statement of the basic controls an organisation should have in place to protect themselves.
To achieve the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, Altecnic’s systems went through rigorous testing. Beginning with the ‘Stage One’ questionnaire, Altecnic listed the various controls that the business has in place. This included technical controls (Firewall, Antivirus, Network design, etc) and procedural controls (Information Security Polices, Cyber Training, etc). To then test the competency of these controls, ‘Stage Two’ (where internal and external penetration testing and vulnerability scanning take place) was initiated.
By passing to the highest standard of certification Altecnic has demonstrated the wider commitment the business has to cyber security and ensuring that all customer and employee information is safely managed.
