Research reveals recommendations rule

New research has revealed that the world’s oldest promotional tool, word of mouth, reigns supreme when it comes to choosing a product for the UK’s plumbers.

According to a new survey among Bristan Connect installers, the majority of plumbers prefer to stick to the same brands with half stating they feel secure in knowing they’ll perform well. However, 75% admitted they would try a different product if a friend, colleague or supplier recommended it.

Hayley Holland, marketing manager at Bristan, comments: “It’s great to see such brand loyalty amongst installers and also that they remain sensibly cautious when considering a new option – typically going by the recommendation of a colleague.”
