New Gas Auditing qualifications from Logic

Logic Certification has launched two new Level 3 Gas Auditing qualifications.

One qualification has been designed for gas engineers responsible for auditing gas work, in order to check it is safe and has been carried out correctly – a particular requirement for social housing properties. The second Gas Auditing qualification is specifically for businesses that carry out audits of their own or other businesses operations as part of their work management procedures.

LCL Level 3 Award in Auditing of Gas Work
This qualification provides candidates with the tools to plan for and conduct an audit, identify incorrect, incomplete and unsafe work, understand current legislation and standards, and compile detailed reports following the audit. Candidates must hold a current and valid certificate of gas safety competence for the range and type of gas appliances and work to be audited.

LCL Level 3 Award in Auditing of a Gas Business’s Work Management Procedures
This qualification covers the same areas as the Level 3 Award in Auditing of Gas Work, focusing on how these apply to an individual business’ working practices, in addition to looking at staff, including the procedure for recruiting gas operatives and how to monitor their performance. The qualification also covers the requirements for safety, training, qualifications and work allocation, covering both direct employees and sub-contractors.

Mark Krull, Director for Logic Certification, said: “Gas auditing is an essential part of keeping gas systems safe and operating efficiently; whether that’s auditing the installations themselves or the companies delivering them. Our two new qualifications are an ideal addition to the range of Gas ACS courses we already offer, proving a total training solution to gas engineering businesses.

“These two new qualifications complement the other LCL gas sector qualifications, including; Level 2 Gas Safety Awareness, with options for social housing or residential premises and Level 4 Gas Safety Management with options for social housing, non-domestic premises or catering establishments. Logic Certification has produced a range of gas safety manuals to support learners undertaking these qualifications.”

The two new Gas Auditing qualifications are available at Logic Certification approved centres throughout the UK.
