The Manufacturers of Equipment for Heat Networks Association (MEHNA) has been set up by the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) to provide manufacturers with secured representation.
The association will cover manufacturers of all types of equipment in a Heat Network, District Heating or Communal Heating system and cover policy, regulations and standards bodies.
Ross Anderson, Director of MEHNA, the Industrial and Commercial Association (ICOM) and both divisions of the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA), said: “This is an exciting time for the flourishing Heat Networks industry. Through the work of EUA and its divisions, we identified the need for a specific trade association to cover this sector.
“Providing technical support as well as representation with policy, regulations and standards bodies such as BEIS, BSI, CIBSE, ADE, BESA, EA and other regulatory bodies, both in the UK and Europe.
“MEHNA aims to be the voice of the equipment manufacturers as well as an association that works to ensure that equipment will operate safely and perform to a high standard. Membership is open to manufacturers of any component of the system including; heat sources (boilers, CHP’s), Heat Interface Units, valves, pipework, pumps, flues and other products.”
