Certification Body and training provider NAPIT has welcomed new data which shows that heat pump sales reached a record high in 2025.
According to the Heat Pump Association UK over 125,000 units were sold in the UK, a 27% increase on the previous year.
The Government’s recently published Warm Homes Plan set a target of 450,000 installs a year by 2030, representing a 33% increase year on year.
NAPIT Commercial and Compliance Director Stephen Melton said: “It is good to see record sales of heat pumps last year but there is still some way to go to meet the Government’s new target.
“The measures announced in the Warm Homes Plan should help and give clarity to installers and consumers about the direction of travel and the incentives available.
“The continued growth provides NAPIT members, plumbers and heating engineers with significant opportunities, and we would urge them to take advantage of them to upskill and expand their businesses.
“We also welcomed the extension of the Heat Training Grant, and NAPIT are helping to support this growth through our partnership with Wolseley Renewables Centre and providing national Air Source Heat Pump course coverage at our training centres.
“Qualified NAPIT members can also gain access to MCS membership which is necessary to take advantage of the £7500 available through the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme for consumers replacing fossil fuel boilers with a heat pump.”
