Leading boiler manufacturer, Worcester, Bosch Group, has announced that installers can now achieve an A+ energy efficiency rating under the forthcoming ErP Directive when fitting either a Greenstar i, Greenstar Si or CDi Compact combi boiler in conjunction with a Wave intelligent thermostat.
In line with the European Commission’s decision to award an uplift of 4% in efficiency for the addition of combined weather and load compensation control to a system, it is now much easier for plumbing and heating professionals to reach the 98% efficiency level required for an A+ rated system, without the need to install renewable technologies.
As each of Worcester’s Greenstar i, Si and CDi Compact combi boilers already has A-rated status, with guaranteed efficiency levels of 94%, the simple addition of a Wave Internet-connected Smart Thermostat provides the necessary 4% increase in efficiency installers need to attain A+ status.
Martyn Bridges, Director of Marketing and Technical Support at Worcester, Bosch Group, said: “Ordinarily, to achieve an A+ rated heating system, an installer would have to specify a boiler, a control, a 400 litre thermal cylinder as well as 4m2 solar thermal panels. With Worcester, all installers need is a boiler and a Wave thermostat, which not only makes the job a lot easier and helps reduce installation time but also makes better financial sense for homeowners.”
