Baxi has proven to be a good sport as employees from its sites across the UK volunteered to man the phones in aid of Sport Relief 2016.
The team of volunteers worked through the night to take public donations at Baxi’s Customer Support Centre in Warwick – an official Sport Relief call centre – as the campaign took over screens for its ‘Night of TV’. Their efforts meant donations could be taken thick and fast, adding to the current Sport Relief total of over £55million – £4million more than the charity’s previous personal best.
All money raised by Sport Relief will go towards giving extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people a helping hand to turn their lives around. Half of all money raised is spent in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities.
Baxi UK Customer Service Director, Lee Robinson, commented: “We are very proud to have been chosen as one of the official Sport Relief call centres again this year.
“There was a great atmosphere all evening and it is amazing that colleagues from across the UK gave up their time to come to Warwick and take donations for this very worthwhile charity. I am personally very proud of everyone.”
