Delivering shower performance

Delivering shower performance

With a trend for luxury showering experiences and the need to maintain the shower’s water pressure to keep up with the demands of a busy family home, Neil Wilson, Head of Marketing at Tucson Pumps discusses how plumbers can deliver a solution and introduces the company’s range of Equinox Shower Pumps.

The appliances and systems working behind the scenes in your home are just as important as the devices that you see and operate every day. Shower performance, for example, is key; no one wants to face weak or fluctuating water pressure, and equally, you don’t want noisy equipment disturbing the calm of a home. Tucson Equinox Shower Pumps solve both challenges in homes that have a gravity fed low pressure water system (where the water is delivered from a tank, usually in the loft).

Tucson Equinox Shower Pumps deliver a strong, consistent flow of water, transforming poor water pressure into a powerful, refreshing shower experience. With advanced engineering, they offer quiet operation, durable performance, and easy installation. They come with an anti-vibration mat to help reduce noise in the home, while the pump is running, minimising disruptive background noise and creating a calmer atmosphere in the household.

The Equinox range includes 2, 3, and 4 bar pumps, available in both positive and universal head options, including imperial and metric connections.

Designed for installers
Tucson Equinox Shower Pumps were enhanced earlier this year to provide increased reliability and convenience, while ensuring a flawless installation. The brass-bodied Equinox range was upgraded from a chrome-plated to a brass finish. Tucson has also transitioned away from push-fit connections. Equinox Shower Pumps now feature stainless-steel flexible hoses, with compression nuts and lever isolating valves.

From streamlined installation features to real-world reliability, every detail has been shaped by installer feedback. Equinox Shower Pumps come in a single box with everything needed for installation, including flexible hoses and the anti-vibration mat, offering all-in-one convenience for plumbers.

Testing regime
Tucson is part of the Sanbra Group and shares a heritage of almost 100 years to when its sister company, Instantor, cast its first brass fitting in 1926. Tucson products are rigorously tested both in-house, at the Instantor Works Design & Testing Lab, and in the field, before any launches to ensure performance and reliability.

The lab features 20 testing machines, which are comparable to the same equipment used at European test centres, such as TUV and KIWA. This, combined with our after-sales service, enables us to keep at the forefront of installer feedback and engagement.

Tucson’s Equinox collection has been WRAS approved and TÜV SÜD certified, ensuring compliance with water regulations and giving customers confidence in its quality, safety and reliability.

Training & demos
In partnership with its sister company, Instantor, Tucson has a Mobile Training Academy, which visits merchants’ premises across the UK and Ireland to carry out expert training and product demonstrations for installers in their local areas. The mobile unit is designed to provide an enriched insight into the Tucson Pumps portfolio and Instantor press solutions in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

The company also hosts Discovery Days at its dedicated training and testing facility in Dublin. This allows installers to learn about the products inside out and witness first-hand the testing procedures to give customers confidence in the reliability of its solutions.

The lab equipment is constantly monitoring performance such as pressure, flow rate and noise in our products with 4,320 simulated operations every day and 20,000 hours of endurance testing a year. This gives installers a clear insight into how the unit functions and what its capabilities are. It provides engineers with a deeper understanding of the product and builds confidence for when they go on-site to install it.

Tucson Pumps also has a full-time, dedicated in-house after-sales team that are qualified plumbers. Should an installer need technical support, certifications, or post-installation support, the Tucson team will contact them directly to help find a solution.

Pump selection
The company has revitalised its website to create a practical, easy-to-navigate resource hub that installers can use to choose the correct pump for any job, or project, with ease. The updated platform features clear, up-to-date product information, quick-access technical data, as well as guidance and support to streamline every stage of the pump selection process.

Tucson Pumps has released a new brochure showcasing its range of domestic pump solutions. Built as part of the “Boosting Your Everyday” campaign, the brochure puts real product performance front and centre.

QR codes throughout the pages link directly to the newly refreshed Tucson website, giving installers instant access to deeper product insights, FAQs, spec sheets, and more.
