Heat for Her Majesty

Heat for Her Majesty

The biggest ship ever built for the UK market arrived in Southampton recently and was officially named by the Queen. Ideal Heat Solutions provided temporary heating for the Queen and guests at the naming ceremony.

Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by Prince Philip, named the ship Britannia, on the port of Southampton. The ceremony started at midday, and was preceded by a parade of celebrities and performers.

Ideal Heat Solutions provided temporary heating for the royal family and their guests during the whole ceremony, as the Queen christened the ship. Warm air heating was provided to the underside of the large outdoor seating stands to provide a warm air stream through the seats, in order to keep the impressive list of guests, spectators and the press office warm and comfortable during the ceremony.

The project represents a huge investment of trust from Britannia to Ideal Group, as Alex Hill, Director of Ideal Heat Solutions explains: “Ideal Heat is delighted to be providing heat for the Queen and Her Majesty’s guests. This is a very exciting and unique project for our business, as our in house designers were able to provide design solutions tailor-made for the ceremony. The final product reflects our ability to provide the right solutions for our clients and our unrivaled skills in temporary heating.”

Britannia created a stir in Southampton as she arrived to the cheers of hundreds, water cannons, a marching band and a special version of “Rule, Britannia!”
