Following the success of last year’s National Apprentice Plumber of the Year competition, ADEY is stepping up its support in 2015.
Organised by Heating Installers and Plumbers (HIP) UK, the competition final took place at ADEY’s training and conference centre for the first time last year. A nationwide competition which supports young apprentices entering the plumbing trade, it was a great opportunity to see the skills of some of the country’s most talented apprentice heating engineers on display.
This year’s competition promises to be even tougher with the final again taking place at ADEY’s Head Office in Cheltenham. Supporting youngsters entering the trade is something the manufacturer of magnetic filters is increasingly committed to, explains the company’s Marketing Director, Haimish Mead.
“The National Apprentice Plumber of the Year competition is establishing itself as an excellent platform to showcase talent. As key industry sponsors, we’re keen to help those starting out in their careers and ensure they’re given the help and support they need.
“With apprenticeships becoming an increasingly attractive option for youngsters leaving full-time education, it’s important they’re given opportunities and encouragement to show their skills. What better way than to be involved in a competition that recognises young, up and coming talent throughout the country.
“It’s a nationwide search and the support from the colleges which hold the regional finals is essential and has helped establish the competition. The UK has the leading installers in the world and the industry must continue to attract the best apprentices and we’re delighted to increase our involvement in such a fantastic event.”
