Carhartt is marking 50 years of its Active Jac jacket. The company says that for five decades, the Active Jac has been worn by people who put in the hard work whatever the weather. To mark the milestone, it is releasing a series of limited-edition designs inspired by pieces from the archives.
“Since 1975, the Active Jac has stood as a symbol of perseverance and progress for the tradespeople shaping our world and as proof of Carhartt’s commitment to making durable gear built to last,” said Susan Hennike, Chief Brand Officer at Carhartt. “Drawing on our heritage, the 50th Anniversary Active Jacs honour five decades of hard work and look ahead to the limitless possibilities still to come.”
Originally released in denim with a red flannel lining, the Active Jac evolved into the legendary Brown Duck version in 1979. Since then, it has been reimagined in flame-resistant editions, camo prints, women’s fits and fashion collaborations.
For the anniversary, Carhartt is introducing limited styles inspired by the past, including the return of Industry Red, a cult colour from the 1990s and the Full Swing™ Loose Fit Washed Duck Insulated Active Jac with stretch panels and Cordura® reinforcements.
