Altecnic launches electrolytic anti-scale device

Altecnic has launched the Caleffi eCAL®, an electrolytic anti-scale device designed to combat limescale caused by hard water.

Limescale buildup affects millions of homes and commercial systems across hard water regions of the UK, leading to reduced system efficiency, higher energy bills, and costly maintenance.

The Caleffi eCAL® is an inline electrolytic treatment device that prevents limescale formation without altering water chemistry. The company says It works by using a low-voltage electric field to convert calcium and magnesium ions into stable aragonite microcrystals, which remain suspended in the flow and are flushed out naturally, rather than forming scale on heating elements and pipework.

An integrated stainless steel filter (50 μm) captures suspended particles, while a high-performance neodymium magnet traps ferromagnetic impurities, delivering dual protection for potable systems.

Gary Perry, Managing Director at Altecnic, commented, ‘With the UK’s push toward low-carbon heating and greater system efficiency, the Caleffi eCAL® arrives at the perfect time. Installers and specifiers need reliable, sustainable ways to protect modern heating systems without introducing chemicals or costly maintenance. eCAL® delivers all that in a compact, plug-and-play format’
