LG Electronics introduces new Residential and Commercial Heat Pump Solutions

LG Electronics has expanded its Therma V heat pump range in the UK with two new additions: the Therma V Monobloc S, a residential air-to-water heat pump, and the Therma V R32 Monobloc 51kW, designed for commercial and multi-family applications.

The company says the Therma V Monobloc S has a compact footprint, air-to-water connection, offers quick installation and smart home integration to make it a practical choice for constrained properties.

Available in capacities from 5kW to 16kW, it has a footprint up to 41% smaller and is up to 22% lighter than its predecessor. It uses R290, a natural refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential of 3, operates down to -25°C and delivers water temperatures of up to 75°C, with an A+++/A++ ErP energy rating across the range.

Homeowners can control the system via the LG ThinQ app, and installers can manage settings and run diagnostics remotely through LG’s BECON cloud platform, with no site visit required.

For large scale residential commercial applications, the Therma V R32 Monobloc 51kW delivers 51kW of heating capacity from a footprint of 1.35m² and weighs 335kg. It holds 100% heating capacity down to -10°C, achieves a SCOP of 4.26 at low temperature and carries an A++/A++ ErP rating. Like the Monobloc S, it connects via water pipework only, with no on-site refrigerant work required.

The company says the unit has been designed for multi-family housing, offices, schools and other higher-demand settings. The 51kW can also be linked in cascade for larger projects, with up to eight units covering heating demands of up to 408kW. Remote monitoring, fault diagnostics, and firmware updates are all handled through LG’s BECON cloud platform.

Sachin Vibhute, Technical Consultant at LG Electronics, said: “Heat pump adoption in the UK is growing, and it’s now happening in places where installation has traditionally been difficult. Older homes, denser urban areas, buildings where space is at a premium. The Monobloc S addresses those challenges head on. On the commercial side, the 51kW brings genuine large-scale heating capacity in a package that’s far more compact than anything else in its class, which on real building projects where space and programme time are always under pressure, makes a real difference.”

The company says the R290 Monobloc S (5-9 kw) option is available now, with the higher KW option available in August. The R32 51Kw is already available.
