Vaillant partners with NEA to support fight against fuel poverty

Vaillant has selected National Energy Action (NEA) as its chosen charity for 2017. Throughout the year, Vaillant will be launching a number of initiatives to help raise valuable funds and drive awareness of NEA, which works tirelessly to end fuel poverty in the UK.

Vaillant has committed to making a donation for every sale of its ecoFIT sustain combination boiler into the social housing sector. In addition, Vaillant will run fundraising campaigns at each event and exhibition it attends in the social housing market during 2017.

Furthermore, staff will be hard at work hosting their own fundraising initiatives, which started with a range of activities in support of NEA’s Nation’s Biggest House Warming event in honour of Fuel Poverty Awareness Day on 17th February. Not only have the team been doing their day job in their onesies and dressing gowns, holding a cake baking competition and giving away free hot drinks, but Vaillant has also pledged a further donation for every installer who retweets Vaillant messages about NEA during the day.

Alice Woolley, Marketing Director, comments: “Fuel poverty is a real issue for over four million households here in the UK, which is why we are delighted to be able to lend our support to NEA. The whole team here at Vaillant is really passionate about trying to raise as much money and awareness as they can, and our plans are already well underway.”

Maria Wardrobe, Director of Communications and External Relations at NEA adds: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Vaillant’s nominated charity for 2017. The company has worked closely with the social housing sector for many years, so has a real understanding of some of the fuel issues facing people today. We’re confident that by working together we can take a big step forward in our journey towards ending fuel poverty.”
