Vaillant launches vocational learning to fit around installers’ schedules

Vaillant has unveiled a series of vocational courses for installers which combine on-site learning with theory-based modules that can be taken from the comfort of their own home.

Keen to enhance the way it supports installers and their businesses, Vaillant has launched four blended learning courses with Cert-ain Certification Services, offering installers valuable industry accredited training which fits around their busy schedules.

The vocational courses, which cover Water Regulations, Unvented Hot Water Systems, Energy Efficiency, and Electrical Safe Isolation, see attendees learn about the current building regulations affecting each topic. Once complete, installers are then able to attend a Vaillant Centre of Excellence to complete the practical element, before receiving their qualification.

The move to blended learning comes after Vaillant transitioned its training courses online during the pandemic to ensure as many installers as possible could upskill while in lockdown. Following the success of this, which saw installers book 25,000 places on online training courses in 2020, the new courses will see installers significantly reduce the time typically needed to attend training courses from one day per course, instead they will be able to complete the practical element for three courses in just two days.

Spencer Clark, Commercial Director at Vaillant said: “As a business we’re always looking at the ways we can further support installers. Training is a great way to upskill and diversify to offer new services. However, taking days away from the tools can be costly, especially when you consider many installers are still trying to recover from the past 18 months.

“At Vaillant the huge success of our online training courses meant we were keen to look at how we can replicate this to offer installers industry accredited qualifications to see their businesses thrive. Our new Cert-ain courses mean installers can invest in their learning without the additional cost of extended time away from their business. In addition, we’ve worked really hard behind the scenes to make this possible and have seen all our trainers reassessed to ensure they meet Cert-ain’s strict criteria.”
