Baxi and MENTalk have launched a charity playlist challenge to raise money for The OLLIE Foundation and help motivate tradespeople as they get back to working life.
The #TradesTopTunes playlist challenge has been created to encourage installers to share their favourite feel-good song and nominate three others to do the same, as well as donating £3 to The OLLIE Foundation which helps deliver suicide awareness, intervention and prevention training in communities to support young people who might be struggling.
MENTalk chose The OLLIE Foundation due to the crucial work it does in promoting good mental health for young people in the early stages of life and its ambition to create a society where no one feels that suicide is their only option, especially young people.
All nominated tracks for the challenge will be added to a #TradesTopTunes playlist on Spotify, designed specifically for tradespeople as they return to work.
As well as doing good for a great cause, the playlist challenge has been designed by Baxi and MENTalk to help boost morale within the installer community at a time of great uncertainty, with many tradespeople heading back to their jobs following the recent changes in government guidance.
The challenge is just one of many activities launched as part of Baxi’s partnership with MENTalk, which aims to encourage men to open up and support each other with mental health issues, as well as raising awareness of personal wellbeing and providing support for those working in the industry.
Steve Smith, one of the founding members of MENTalk, said: “Listening to music has been proven to be good for your mental health and can really lift your mood, so the playlist charity challenge is a great way to help bring people together online during a particularly challenging time.
“Aside from being a lot of fun, the #TradesTopTunes challenge will be raising money for The OLLIE Foundation so as well as connecting with the installer community, by taking part you will also be doing your bit for a great cause. We can’t wait to hear all of the feel-good songs that are helping installers stay motivated as they return to working life!”
Sarah Till, Social Media Manager at Baxi, says: “Whether it’s listening to your favourite tracks on the way to and from work in the van, or during a job, installers love music and so do we. We’re thrilled to be working with MENTalk to encourage installers to share their favourite back-to-work motivational songs, all while helping to raise as much money as possible for The OLLIE Foundation.
To take part in the #TradesTopTunes challenge, installers simply need to visit Baxi’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, where they can post their favourite song, tag three installers and donate £3 via Baxi’s #TradesTopTunes Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TradesTopTunes
