Liquid Gas UK has launched the 2023 Young Person in LPG Awards, sponsored by Vaillant.
Young Person in LPG is designed to recognise talented young people aged 35 and under who are working in and making a difference to the industry.
Anyone working in the industry from any professional background can enter and win an award, provided they have made a significant or outstanding contribution to their company, role and industry.
The awards were launched at the InstallerSHOW in Birmingham, in late June.
Nominations for the awards are open from 28 June 2023 and close on 18 September 2023. All nominations will be judged by an expert awards panel with winners announced at the Liquid Gas UK Annual Conference in Liverpool on 2 November 2023.
There are three categories:
– Rising Star of the Year
– Apprentice of the Year
– Outstanding Achievement
Nominations for the awards can be made by a colleague nominating a candidate, or an individual nominating themselves.
Laura Needham, Head of Training at Vaillant, said: “Celebrating achievements in the heating industry, especially among young people is key to encourage younger engineers and installers into the market. With many Gas Safe registered engineers nearing retirement, it’s imperative we invest in the younger generation today, through all methods of heating technologies.”
George Webb, Chief Executive of Liquid Gas UK, said: “As our industry begins the next phase of its journey to net zero and renewable liquid gases, it’s important to celebrate the young people who will lead it into the future; those outstanding achievers, apprentices and rising stars who will make a huge difference to our transition during their careers.”
