With April 25th marking national ‘Hug A Plumber Day’ and the start of the CV Show, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be using its presence at the show to demonstrate its appreciation of this most important of trades.
National ‘Hug a Plumber Day’ encourages everyone in the industry to recognise the ingenuity, hard work and skills of plumbers everywhere. As a token of appreciation from anyone who’s ever needed a toilet or boiler fixing, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be offering a warm welcome and free drink to every plumber who visits its stand in Hall 4 at the NEC in Birmingham during the CV Show (25-27th April), as well as the chance to enter a prize draw to drive away the fabulous new Crafter for a week.
April 25th marks the UK public debut of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ all-new Crafter van. As plumbers and skilled trades are among the key customer groups whose input was sought in the design of the Crafter, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is looking forward to welcoming plumbers to the stand.
Plumbers simply have to head to the Crafter2Craftsmen van on the Volkswagen stand, have their photo taken, and put their business card into the draw. Ten lucky plumbers will win a prize, and of those, one will have the opportunity to put the new Crafter to the test.
In addition to the new Crafter panel van and the Crafter2Craftsmen vehicle (www.crafter2craftsmen.com) being unveiled, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also be showcasing a Crafter converted to a Mobile Service Clinic – demonstrating one of the many ways in which the brand brings to life its Working With You promise to support businesses large and small, who rely on vans to keep them moving forwards.
Chris Black, Head of Fleet at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “Plumbers work tirelessly all year round and should be appreciated for their efforts. Hug a Plumber Day is a great way to recognise this and we’re looking forward to introducing the new Crafter to such an important group of customers at the CV Show in Birmingham.”
The new Crafter has already been recognised with a number of key awards, including VansA2Z’s Van of the Year, Van Fleet World’s Best New Van and Best Large Van and International Van of the Year 2017. The new Crafter is said to be ideal for plumbers, with front wheel drive versions offering a lower loading height and entry price, universal load floor to secure racking for tools and specialist equipment, a new smart design to give the right professional image and a comfortable cab which doubles as a mobile office with a wide range of connectivity features and technology.
