Stroma becomes approved Legionella training centre

Stroma Certification has received approved training centre status from Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance to offer its industry-acknowledged Legionella training courses to assessors and installers.

Installers and assessors can be confident when choosing Stroma Certification’s Legionella Risk Assessment Training due to Highfield’s status as a leading training package provider, in addition to Stroma’s award-winning history as a training body. The course, Legionella Risk Assessment Training (HABC L2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot & Cold Water Systems) (QFC)), is a one-day course, composed of two modules (Legionella Awareness and Hot & Cold Water Systems ) and covers all aspects of Legionella and relevant legislation.

The Legionella Risk Assessment Training offers applicants an introduction to what Legionella is, how it can be managed and how surrounding Health & Safety legislation relates to property assessments. Stroma will also be carrying out live demonstrations of its Legionella software, with specific Legionella Risk Assessment forms, to further confidence and competence when carrying out assessments. Following successful course completion, students will receive the HABC L2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot & Cold Water Systems (QFC)). The course is priced at £240 (+VAT) per person.

The programme runs as a complementary course to Stroma Certification’s Inventory Training which aids assessors with the skills to provide compliant property assessments for the rental market. A recent survey, of the energy assessor industry indicated that 80% of assessors would like to add Legionella and Inventory to the current trades they offer.

In response to this demand, Stroma Certification expanded its Legionella and Inventory services to include two new certification schemes – Legionella Certification and Inventory Certification. Installers and assessors can join these schemes providing that the relevant Legionella or Inventory training has been completed. The schemes will maintain Legionella and Inventory competency and high-quality standards and also offer the opportunity for assessors and installers to expand into the rental market.

Stroma Certification is a multiple award winning certification body, offering certification, software and training services to assessors and installers working across the built environment. Whether they are new to the industry, or experienced professionals, installers and assessors can contact Stroma to find a suitable solution to ensure compliance and competency. Receiving approved training centre status to deliver Legionella Risk Assessment training provides Stroma Certification with another trusted quality mark for their services.
