OFTEC is pleased to announce that Inspection Manager Tim Lock has taken over the position of Technical Director at the trade association, with effect from 1st November.
Tim joined the organisation in 2011 as a field based inspector before becoming Inspection Service Manager in 2014; a role which involved overseeing the work of 13 sub-contracted inspectors and contributing to OFTEC’s Competent Persons and Microgeneration Certification schemes.
Prior to his positions with OFTEC, Tim worked for 18 years as an installer of oil, gas and solid fuel heating and hot water systems for a Lincolnshire-based family owned business. Tim then moved on to become a technical surveyor/ supervisor for both traditional and renewable domestic heating systems at a national installation company.
Tim’s new position at OFTEC comes after the post of Technical Director was vacated by Paul Rose, who has now taken the helm of the organisation as CEO.
Commenting on his new role, Tim said: “With more than 25 years’ experience in the domestic heating sector to draw upon, both on and off the tools, I hope to be able to continue Paul’s excellent work in providing quality services to our manufacturer members, technicians and other stakeholders.
“Our industry clearly faces challenges, not least as we wait for the full impact of Brexit to unfold, but OFTEC is well placed to meet these. I look forward to playing my role in helping OFTEC continue to progress and evolve as part of a changing heating and cooking sector.”
