IFTTT incorporated into Wiser

Drayton has launched its own channel on ‘If This Then That’ (IFTTT), the Internet of Things platform, for use with the Wiser range of smart heating controls.

IFTTT is a web-based service that can be used to create Applets, which are commands that pair up smart devices in ways that can make life easier. This combines two basic elements – a trigger (‘If This’) and an action (‘Then That’).

Drayton’s IFTTT compatibility for the system enables geofencing linked with the system’s Eco Mode. For example, homeowners can integrate Wiser with an app such as Life 360 to set up a command that says, “When the last family member leaves the house activate Away Mode.”

Mikael Eliaeson, Product Manager at Drayton, said: “We’re constantly looking at ways to develop the level of control our users can have with our system and heighten connectivity options, as more people are developing smart homes.

“We’re really excited to bring IFTTT compatibility to Wiser. Over the coming months we will build a full portfolio of Applets allowing for increased functionality, which will enhance the user experience.

Connecting is simple – users set-up a free account with IFTTT, link the account with IFTTT, then simply visit the Wiser Heat channel to start using the ready-made Applets or create their own command ‘recipes’.
