As the fully connected home becomes a reality, integration remains the key buzzword, and what homeowners increasingly want and expect from their home appliances. With this in mind, Honeywell’s Lyric T6 series, evohome and Single Zone thermostats are now all compatible with the Amazon Echo Home control system.
The Amazon Echo Hands free speaker allows control of a variety of devices around the home using the Amazon Alexa voice control software, providing a single point of remote control for the user.
Echo works with both the Total Connect Comfort App and the Lyric App via smartphone or tablet, allowing the Alexa voice control software to be used to give vocal commands to the Honeywell thermostats.
Quick commands can include; setting a specific temperature, turning the hot water on/off and turning on Economy mode.
Andy Mansfield, Marketing Communications Manager at Honeywell explained: “Ensuring our smart thermostats work across these new home automation platforms provides installers with further selling points when specifying heating controls, and also futureproofs them for the customer.”
Integration with the Amazon Echo system follows on from the Lyric T6 integration with the Apple HomeKit home automation product set.
