HHIC launches gas fire campaign

HHIC has launched its ‘Love Gas Fires’ consumer campaign to promote the humble domestic gas fire and its many comfort benefits.

Stewart Clements, Director of the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC), commented: “A gas fire is an, efficient, aspirational and economical method for heating your home particularly when used as a secondary source of heat.”

The dynamic consumer campaign will promote the benefits of gas fires as a practical and attractive solution for secondary heating in UK homes, to a consumer audience on and offline.

Stewart continued: “The secret for any installer is to identify opportunities for growth. Understand the gas appliance market, look for ways to add value to your service and make sure you are putting yourself in a position to meet consumer demand.

“Four out of every five Gas Safe engineers have completed the HTR1 module, which means they are registered to work with gas fires and wall heaters, but only a small percentage of those installed, replaced or commissioned a natural gas fire last year.

If you are not making the most of your gas fire qualification, you are missing out! When it comes to gas fires, opportunities are plentiful. Fitting, servicing and of course the added margin.

“This campaign will help installers sell the benefits of gas fires and provide information to their customers on the many gas fire options available.”

The campaign will centre on a new consumer hub which will act as a go to place for consumers to find information, inspiration and advice on gas fires www.lovegasfires.co.uk.

A new Facebook Page – www.facebook.com/LoveGasFires – has also been launched.
