The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors has published its 2020 programme of one-day plumbing courses which include Water Regulations, Legionella Cold Water Risk Assessment & Disinfection, and Sanitary & Above Ground Drainage.
The courses are for experienced plumbers who ideally hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or have equivalent practical experience of plumbing and the water industry.
APHC’s CEO John Thompson commented: “Keeping up-to-date and developing existing skills is important to help ensure you are working compliantly and safely. Our one-day courses help with this plus they can provide added advantages. For example, APHC members who successfully complete our Water Regulations course and hold a full plumbing qualification will meet the entry requirements to join the WaterSafe Installer Scheme for free.”
WaterSafe is a national register of approved plumbers and is used by water companies, local authorities and large public organisations to source qualified and experienced plumbers.
The courses are delivered at APHC’s offices in the West Midlands and if there is a requirement for a group of employees, then APHC may be able to deliver their courses off-site at a suitable local location.
Claim a £150 training reward
APHC is giving away 100 training rewards which allow plumbing and heating companies to claim up to £150 towards the cost of a certificated training course completed through a recognised provider such as APHC, BPEC, City & Guilds, LOGIC Certification, NICEIC and all UKAS approved ACS providers.
John Thompson added: “The £150 training reward is available to all plumbing and heating companies in England and Wales regardless of whether they are members of APHC. In order to receive the reward, companies are required to send a copy of the training course invoice along with the successful course completion certificate to APHC and we will then pay for the cost of the course, up to £150, into the employer’s business bank account.”
