Zero emissions boiler launched by Luthmore

Luthmore has revealed what it says is a zero-emissions alternative to the gas combi boiler.

The LFP battery-powered, tankless boiler, has been designed by two former Dyson engineers and the company is now taking registrations for a free-half day training for installers at their Chippenham HQ from late Summer.

The Luthmore Boiler is a tankless, battery enabled heating solution that delivers instant hot water at 30kW and central heating at 10kW. It is powered by six non-rare earth Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, meaning grid and solar energy can be stored at off peak tariff times, and released throughout the day.

Compatible with familiar formats, such as existing pipework and radiators, the company says the Luthmore Boiler takes a plug and play approach: tankless and flueless, the boiler requires minimal space and set-up.

Will Jameson, Commercial and Corporate Director at Luthmore said: “After four years of development and rigorous testing, we are so excited to bring this pioneering technology to market. We represent a new way of heating homes in a cost effective, sustainable way, without sacrificing the performance and ease of set-up associated with a classic combi boiler.

“Whether it’s the compact design which fits the same space as a combi and uses the same plumbing infrastructure, or its ability to meet both current and anticipated housing standards, the Luthmore Boiler is an affordable low-carbon solution for installers and consumers.

“We’re incredibly energised by the market interest in the Luthmore Boiler. Our solution supports the move away from gas in a way that is unbeatably simple, providing the same power and quality but in a more cost-effective way.”

Al Benton-Jones, Director of Duck Plumbing said: “This is a revolution in the boiler market and a gamechanger for installers switching to low-carbon heating. Carefully designed to allow the installer to carry out the installation quickly and without the need to wade through pages of literature. From the moment you take the boiler out of its box you really can’t go wrong with the fitting. It’s plug and play on another level.”
