PHPI heads to The Shard to learn all about the new product launches from Flamco.
More than five years of development is said to have contributed to Flamco’s latest line of products released in the UK, including the XStream, the Side-Clean, and a new range of expansion vessels – the Flexcon Premium range.
XStream
The Flamco XStream reportedly ensures there is up to 15% less energy consumption by the heating system, as well as the introduction of automatic venting to combat wear and tear to the system with a lower chance of a breakdown. The ECO/MAX mode allows the unit to operate at maximum power to remove dirt and air from the system, before turning the system down to ECO to ensure constant activity but with a low resistance and pressure drop, which means the pump has to work less hard.
Available in three different units – XStream Vent (air separator), XStream Clean (dirt separator) and XStream Vent-Clean (air and dirt separator) – the entire range is equipped with a 360° rotating connection which makes it possible to install in horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines.
The unit is supplied with an integral insulation jacket which ensures heat losses are kept to a minimum, as well as an integrated service indicator which displays when the filter was last flushed. With the XStream Vent, the service indicator shows when the system was last vented in the MAX mode. This air and dirt separation system comes with a 15-year warranty, highlighting the company’s confidence in the longevity of the new unit.
SideFlow Clean
To protect against dirt that may collect in central heating and cooling systems, the SideFlow Clean filter is suitable for installations in the commercial, industrial and utilities sectors. It has a maximum working pressure of 16 bar, is suitable for system capacities of up to 120,000 litres and system power outputs of up to 10 megawatts, and can also be fitted to existing installations.
The screw-on top allows the installer to easily remove both the magnet holder and the bag filter for cleaning or replacement, while it is also possible to mix in glycol or to add cleaning or protection agents. The SideFlow Clean includes four bag filters and comes with a five-year warranty.
Flexcon Premium
The Flexcon Premium range features a plastic membrane for expansion vessels made of thermoplastic polyolefin, which is said to make the product much more sustainable in terms of environmental performance and durability, while maintaining a high quality. It also provides raw materials and energy savings, and offers a 15-year guarantee.
In other respects too, the range is said to score highly in terms of sustainability. The new membrane is much lighter, requiring up to 50% less material, resulting in a large reduction of CO2 emissions.
The life cycle of these expansion vessels has also been made to be as sustainable as possible. Cardboard packaging has replaced polystyrene, and user manuals have been optimised by being printed on FSC certified paper.
