Heating and plumbing distributor Navigator has launched a new antifreeze valve, a part of Navigator’s Midbrass Renewable Range. This antifreeze valve is designed to work with heat pumps and other renewable energy systems.
The valve prevents systems freezing by detecting when the fluid in the system reaches below 3°C.
The new valve features Automatic Temperature Regulation. The valve automatically opens at 3°C to release water and prevent freezing and closes at 4°C to stop the discharge, ensuring seamless operation without manual intervention.
Constructed from durable materials – DRZ solid brass material – the valve is designed to withstand harsh conditions and provide reliable performance over time. The valve has a sensitivity of ±1°C.
Navigator says the valve must be installed vertically on horizontal pipework, ensuring proper drainage and preventing freezing of the outlet port. It should be placed where the pipework is most liable to freeze, away from heat sources to maintain accurate readings.
