OFTEC has launched a new, integrated website and online portal providing access to all services and information via one central hub.
The new site at www.oftec.org combines all registration account functions, scheme information and applications; technical book updates; the works notification system and online shop OFTEC Direct; all in one place, making everything simpler to use.
All OFTEC registered technicians should have received an email with a personal invitation to create a new, unique user account. Once activated, visitors can access the full scope of the simple to navigate site, which is compatible with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox. Logins for the old OFTEC website will no longer work with the new site.
Trade association members will also gain access to a dedicated, password protected area that provides details of the work of OFTEC committees, opportunities to comment on industry consultations and other useful features.
The upgraded site merges the former joinoftec.com, oftecdirect.com, oftec.org and ofteconline.com, and includes all the functions previously available with a few new additions.
Compliance certificates can now be sent directly to customers by simply adding their email address to the site, saving time, money and paper. OFTEC inspectors will also use a bespoke app to send inspection reports by email.
In the OFTEC Direct shop, technicians will only see products applicable to their own scopes of registration to prevent having to scroll through many items to find the required one.
All application forms for new scopes of oil and renewable heating registration, and to ‘add a technician’, are also included in the Technician’s hub rather than being spread across two separate sites. The hub also includes all scheme and training information.
OFTEC Registration Services Director, Adrian Lightwood, comments: “The launch of the new site and portal is a major step forward in our plans to increase the online services available to our registered technicians and the customers they serve.
“We hope the new, easy to navigate site will help reduce technicians’ administration time and provide a more efficient, effective experience for all. More online services will be introduced over the next few months.”
