Mitsubishi Electric has announced that it will begin phasing out its Ecodan R32 heat pumps, which will be replaced by the extended Ecodan R290 range.
The company launched the Ecodan R290 in October 2023. In April, it announced an extended range of R290 heat pumps. Originally available in 5kW and 6kW, the additional 8.5kW, 10kW, and 12kW models have been added. The company says its Ecodan R290 heat pumps offer a powerful, low-carbon heating solution for larger homes and properties with higher heat loss.
Commenting on the announcement, Joanna Crown, Product Marketing Manager at Mitsubishi Electric (pictured), said: “Our Ecodan R32 range helped raise the bar for low-carbon heating, and we’re proud of the role it has played in supporting the UK’s decarbonisation efforts. As the market evolves, the expanded range of Ecodan R290 heat pumps is designed to meet both future performance expectations and regulatory demands, while continuing to provide the quality and reliability that homeowners and installers expect from Mitsubishi Electric.”
