A new course from Logic4training offers experienced gas operatives the opportunity to tap into the off-grid market by becoming qualified in the installation and commissioning of bulk LPG storage vessels; an important element of the expanding LPG heating sector, which has a predicted growth rate of 3.4% annually until 2023.
Logic4training’s LPG Vessels Package course not only covers the installation and commissioning of bulk LPG storage vessels, it also equips candidates with the skills to carry out electro-fusion jointing of PE pipework up to a maximum diameter of 63mm.
Suitable candidates must have experience working as a registered gas engineer and hold valid CCN1 and COCN1 qualifications. The LPG Vessels Package from Logic4training covers the following units:
- VESLP1 LPG bulk storage vessels single supply;
- VESLP2 LPG bulk storage vessels multiple supply; and
- EFJLP1 Electro-fusion jointing.
Logic4training Director, Mark Krull, said: “We are pleased to add the LPG Vessels Package Course to our range of LPG training courses, which includes specialisms such as boats and yachts, leisure vehicles and park homes, as well as the LPG Changeover course.
“LPG is an area often overlooked by registered gas engineers looking to widen their services. However, with an estimated 4 million UK households off the mains gas grid and relying on alternative fuels, training up could be a wise business move.
“LPG is a clean burning fuel and systems are extremely versatile, making it a good option for providing off-grid heat. Qualifying in the installation of LPG vessels and associated works opens up opportunities for both domestic and commercial applications, enabling installers to reach a new target market.”
