Throughout 2015, Giacomini UK has seen a notable growth in HIU orders, particularly for residential conversion projects.
To help installers face the increased demand, Giacomini has introduced a new “add on service”, where its experienced engineers provide hands on HIU commissioning training to teams on site. This can help reduce installation times and leaves the construction team more informed for the future.
The training aims to provide installers with a systematic method for commissioning HIUs that guarantees consistency, ensures that design requirements are being met and streamlines the process. Subsequently, efficiency levels and customer satisfaction are boosted.
The training session is demonstration-led, where a Giacomini engineer explains how the HIU operates. As part of the training, system flow rates and temperatures are measured through various outlets; valves are adjusted to demonstrate possible variations and functionality; and the heating system is filled.
Time is then dedicated to fault finding and identifying potential external influences that could cause problems and then how to resolve them.
Alistair Moore, Giacomini’s UK & Ireland Sales Manager, who initiated the scheme, commented: “We have introduced the training initiative to help educate installers on site. By doing so, we hope to reduce commissioning times, not just to be beneficial now but also for future projects. At Giacomini, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding technical support and by introducing this additional service we can continue to offer more to our customers”.
Certificates can be provided to confirm completion of Giacomini commissioning training. To be entitled to the complimentary training, orders must meet quantity requirements.
