DAB Pumps is celebrating 50 years of operating in the water management sector.
Founded in 1975 in the Veneto region of northern Italy, DAB began as a trading operation serving a consortium of four specialist manufacturers. With its roots in precision metalworking – stainless steel stamping, lamination and cast-iron casting – the company was well-positioned to move into pump manufacturing. That foresight paid off and today, DAB produces more than two million pumps annually.
“The foundation of our success has always been understanding what installers and building professionals actually need on site,” says Adam Ferneyhough, Country Director for the UK & Ireland. “We don’t innovate for the sake of it; our product teams are constantly working to make installation and operation as easy and reliable as possible.”
The company’s early success in Italy paved the way for international expansion in the 1990s. In 1996, DAB joined a major multinational group, gaining global resources while retaining autonomy.
Between 1998 and 2009, a wave of strategic acquisitions broadened DAB’s product portfolio and strengthened its position across residential, commercial and industrial segments.
“What’s driven our progress over the decades is a mindset of continuous improvement,” con.tinues Adam. “We’re always exploring how technology, design and service can work together more intelligently. That spirit of innovation is embedded in our culture and it’s what will shape the next 50 years of DAB.”
