The latest energy attitudes research from Resideo – the manufacturer of the Honeywell Home heating control range – has found that concerns over energy costs do not appear to be subsiding. The poll showed 74% of homeowners expressing concerns over 2025/2026 winter energy costs compared to 70%for the previous winter.
Nearly half (48%) of the respondents said they still rely upon a professional installer for guidance on what thermostats to purchase and install, with two thirds (67%) wanting professional installation.
The result indicate the important role HVAC installers can have in guiding future heating decision-making.
“We are a pioneer of using innovative technology to help increase comfort levels in the home and we believe that there is a great opportunity for installers to help more households to better tackle their energy cost concerns through connected thermostats, ” said Steve Warrington, Country Sales Director, UK at Resideo. “Our focus is to create a more sustainable future by delivering products and solutions that meet installers and consumer needs of increased heating control and lower energy bills.”
