CK Tools announces sponsorship of Leicester College’s Green Technology Hub

CK Tools has announced its sponsorship of Leicester College’s new, Green Technology Hub – an extension of its ‘Bright Sparks by CKI’ scheme.

‘Bright Sparks by CKI’, launched in 2003, is a college sponsorship scheme providing free, high-quality tools to colleges across the UK and Ireland, with the aim of supporting the development of the next generation of tradespeople.

Since its launch, the scheme has provided tools to more than 50,000 students, across 60 colleges.

The Green Technology Hub at Leicester College’s Freemen’s Campus was officially opened by Nick Allen, Construction Area Manager, and features green tech equipment to support a range of courses focused on renewables and green technology.

C.K Tools’ sponsorship will see the brand support the delivery of sustainable electrical training, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience with energy-efficient and renewable technologies.

Brinley Buckley-Roberts, Head of Marketing, at CK Tools comments: “Since the launch of the ‘Bright Sparks’ initiative, we’re proud to reveal that we’ve helped more than 50,000 students and apprentices by ensuring that they have access to the highest quality tools and industry-leading resources during their training.

“We believe that investing in future tradespeople is the best way to ensure the continued legacy of high-quality electricians. The Green Technology Hub is an excellent example of exactly that. We’re so proud to have contributed to this amazing facility and can’t wait to see what its students go on to achieve.”

Nick Allen, Construction Area Manager at Leicester College said: “The UK currently faces a large skills gap in the green technology sector, so the development of our Green Technology Hub represents a step in the right direction; helping to provide a new generation of skilled workers to take advantage of the career pathways within the industry.

“As well as being the cornerstone for our new green tech courses, this new development will provide an excellent opportunity for our current students, adult evening learners and local employers looking to upskill their workforce, and we’re thankful to CK Tools for their sponsorship, helping to make this facility a reality for the people of Leicestershire.”
